“The act of painting is an energetic and transformational process.” My initial impulse is usually an attempt to give form to an imagined dance going on in my head. Often the movement or tempo changes, or symbols appear and the first images dissolve, blur, tear apart or disappear. I never use brushes. Painting with my hands, the process of pushing and pulling line and color and violating the edges feels more like drawing or sculpting.”
